I am told that choosing a name for your business is one of the hardest first steps. As in everything, first impressions count; a name sets the tone for everything that follows. It is the label by which people come to refer to you. It acts as a trigger for them to remember your last conversation or the way they feel when they see you. It is the logo on the picture that now hangs proudly over their fireplace.

Over the years, I have been told countless times that I ought to do something with my photos, that it was a shame to just keep them on a hard drive, because other people would enjoy seeing them. So, about a year ago, I started on a new and uncharted journey and decided to see where this road would take me. 

They tell you that in a crowded space like photography you need something that sets you apart, something unique that makes people go “that’s different”. But I don’t much like originality for originality’s sake. 

I take photos to unwind, to get lost in the moment and go where the mood takes me. When I get home and finish the creating process, I am left with more than an image: it is a moment in time. Whenever I look at that image, I remember the light and colours, the sounds and smells, and even the temperature. But, perhaps more importantly, I experience again the feeling of being there, how I felt about what I saw and, in a sense, ‘then’ becomes ‘now’.

So that is my offering: moments, which for me are ‘Always Now’.
